How to check if server is Virtual or Physical

It is very simple task. SSH to server and issue this command:

dmidecode | more

If you see this output:

Vendor: Dell Inc.

It is Physical server.

If you see this output:

Vendor: Phoenix Technologies LTD

Manufacturer: VMware, Inc

Then it is VM
