Recently, I found myself in a bit of a predicament when my phone broke. After receiving a new one, I realized that I had forgotten to transfer my Okta account to the new device, and unfortunately, I had already factory reset my old handset. It wasn’t until I tried to access the Broadcom Support Portal that I realized my mistake. Initially, I was unsure how to reset my account, but after figuring it out, I wanted to share the procedure for anyone who might find themselves in a similar situation:
- Access the Chatbot: Visit the Broadcom Support Portal and click on the chatbot icon in the lower-right corner.
- Start a New Conversation: Choose “New Conversation” and then select “Account Help.”
- Initiate MFA Reset: Click on “Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Reset” and follow the prompts.
- Verify Your Email: Enter your account’s email ID for verification and check your inbox for the code.
- Complete the Reset: Choose the relevant category (e.g., Okta Verify Push) and submit the request. You’ll receive a confirmation that the reset was successful.
- Set Up New MFA: On your next login, you’ll be prompted to set up your MFA again.
